Members of Albanian Parliament visit Moglicë construction site

On June 12, the Chair and members of the Albanian Parliament Commission for Production Activities, Trade and Environment visited Moglicë HPP project site.

The members of parliament were welcomed by Mr William Burstrom, Moglicë HPP Project Director, as well as Mr Ronald Storhammar, Senior Finance Manager.

"We are here today to receive information on the project’s progress, as well as for welcoming Statkraft Albania to address concerns, if any, so that we can support in further developing this strategic project", stated Mr Eduard Shalsi, Chair of the Commission.

A detailed presentation on latest progress of Moglicë HPP construction works; Environmental and Social Management activities, as well as replacement roads was given to the participants by the Moglicë Project Director, followed by an interactive questions and answers session, to full satisfaction of the Albanian Parliamentary Members.

Following an HSE induction, the visit continued at the Moglicë dam construction site.

Moglicë Dam will be 160 meters high, making it one of the tallest of its kind in the world. The powerhouse is located underground with a 10.8 km headrace tunnel. The installed capacity of the powerhouse will be 184 MW, generating approx. 450 GWh/year.

The excavation works in the tunnel are almost completed, while the works on the dam are ongoing at a satisfactory speed. 260 million euros have been invested in the Moglicë HPP so far and employing over 1400 workers.
