Statkraft Albania obtains permit to proceed with the start of impoundment of Moglicë HPP reservoir
On 14.05.2019 the Albanian National Committee of Large Dams approved the Authorization to start with the impoundment of the Moglicë HPP reservoir.
This approval marked a major milestone for this very important step of Moglicë HPP implementation. Very soon is planned the start of the creation of Moglicë reservoir.
For Moglicë HPP currently are under implementation the last finishes and grouting activities at the dam. The underground tunnel works are completed, and the installation of machineries on the Moglicë Powerhouse is well underway.
Moglicë HPP is comprised of an asphalt-core rock-fill dam of more than 160 metre high, a headrace tunnel of approx. 11 Km and an underground Powerhouse with an installed capacity of 184 MW. When in operation, the HPP shall generate approx. 450 GWh/yearly.
