Statkraft in Albania
Statkraft is the largest private investor in renewable energy in Albania and one of the largest foreign investors in the country.
In the frame of the expansion in international markets, Statkraft established its presence in Albania since 2007. Since this time, Statkraft has investigated potential projects in Albania, which culminated with the investment decision to implement the Devoll Hydropower Project.
The current main activity of Statkraft in Albania is the generation of renewable energy from Banja and Moglice hydropower plants, part of the Devoll cascade, and their further optimization.
An important component of the operations in Albania is the trading of the electricity generated through the Banja and Moglice HPPs and also acting as a market operator for energy trading in Albania.
Operations in Albania are implemented mainly through the subsidiary company Devoll Hydropower Sh.A. and Statkraft Renewables Albania Sh.p.k.
Statkraft is open and is continuing to investigate for potential opportunities to expand its investments in Albania and in the South East Europe.
